The Inspiration Behind FreeSlide
The goalie slide plates currently available on the market are often very expensive, sometimes costing several hundred euros. These high prices can be a major barrier, especially for young goalies whose families already have to spend a lot on equipment.
We wanted to create an affordable, high-quality alternative that gives players of all ages access to this useful piece of goalie equipment.
That’s why we offer our 3D-print files for free, so you can print your own slide plates at home or at local facilities such as schools, libraries, or makerspaces.
Our Goal: Making the Sport More Accessible
With FreeSlide, we want to give goalies affordable access to high-quality slide plates. We strongly believe that taking part in the sport should never depend on how much money you can spend on equipment.
Our slide plates allow goalies to move quickly and smoothly across the rink while playing in the butterfly position, creating movement that feels much closer to playing on ice. This can be especially useful for players who play both inline hockey and ice hockey.
What Makes FreeSlide so unique
FreeSlide stands out in several ways. You can download the print files for free and print the plates yourself at home.
Our slide plates are designed with rounded corners and edges to create a smooth surface and help protect the rink floor. We offer two different sizes – a small round version and a larger rectangular version – so you can position the plates individually depending on the contact points of your goalie pads.
The plates can be attached easily using self-adhesive hook-and-loop fastener, without permanently modifying the pads.
